HAKU is a hidden gem inside the massive Harbour City Mall on Kowloon side. It is a Japanese Restaurant curated by Chef Hideaki Matsuo from the famous Relais & Chateaux restaurant “Kashiwaya” in Osaka-Japan. It is an experience menu of around12-13 small Izakaya style dishes. The executive Chef is Augustin Balbi from Argentina and he puts a spanish twist on the food. Chorizo and Belotta Ham are ingredients you can find in the dishes. It was my second time here and thanks to the amazing somelier Wallace Lo it was again an amazing experience. They really complement each other!

So this is an experience menu as I mentioned already. So I will not go through each and every single dish but let the pictures speak for itself. Go for the wine pairing if you can as it is really a super enhancement to the experience, and Wallace will expertly explain from A-Z about his choices. Funnily enough this time there was a Belgian wine from Genoels Elderen!! Roughly 20 Km. From where I was born. One of the very few quality wine producers in Belgium….what a coincidence! Book at the chefs counter, If there is no space, then I recommend you to book another day. The tables are OK, but the experience is the counter! Highly Recommended.

Service : 6,5/7
